NOTE: JERRI IS NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME

Jerri and Kristen are both graduates of the First Nation University of Canada in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

As Clinical Social Workers we have experience with mental health (anxiety, depression, etc.), trauma and abuse, sexual assault, addictions, relationships, sexuality, separation and divorce, parenting difficulties, childhood neglect, stress management, illness, grief, and life transitions.

As Indigenous Social Workers we use a Trauma informed and strengths-based approach, drawing on a variety of modalities (ie. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy and we are both in training for Somatic Experiencing) to improve clients’ quality of life and well-being.

Indigenous social workers have extensive knowledge on the impacts that colonialism and residential schools has had on Indigenous people and our approach is informed by this history. We have an understanding of human behaviour & development, sociocultural factors, and the ways in which they interact.

Kristen has been working in the field of social work since 2018. She is a certified Yoga Instructor, incorporating this into her counseling. She also has additional training in trauma-informed counseling and sexual violence, cognitive behavioral therapy, and is working towards certification for Somatic Experiencing with an expected competition date of 2024. Kristen works from the philosophy that “As I often tell my students, the two most important phrases in therapy, as in yoga, are ‘Notice that’ and ‘What happens next?’ Once you start approaching your body with curiosity rather than fear, everything shifts”. - Bessel Van Der Kolk.
